Job Prospectus: Client Manager

Salary: £28,000–£32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Fully Remote | Full Time or Part-Time for an exceptional candidate (approximately 20 hours per week), with the expectation of moving to full-time within six months.

Start Date: Mid-August 2026

If you take real pleasure in looking after people beautifully, this is a flexible, largely remote role at a thoughtful arts-education business — one with genuine room to grow, and a warm welcome to career-changers, former performers, and those returning after a career break.

The role, in a sentence

To be the warm, capable first point of contact for the families who come to Prelude — and to look after those relationships with genuine care as they grow.

About Prelude

Prelude Education is a bespoke arts tutoring agency, working with families across London to provide exceptional private tuition in music, drama and fine art. We match families with rigorously vetted specialist teachers, and manage the relationship with care from the very first enquiry onwards.

We are expanding from our established music practice into drama and fine art under a single Prelude Education brand. We work with a wide range of families — many of them high-net-worth — across London’s independent and state school ecosystem. Whatever a family’s background, our promise is the same: exceptional teachers, and a service that looks after every detail.

What you’ll do

The heart of this role is the family relationship. You will be the first person a prospective family speaks to, the person who guides them to the right teacher, and the person who makes sure they feel looked after for as long as they are with us. Looking after these relationships beautifully is the job — and it must be something you love doing.

Your core responsibilities

  • Responding promptly and warmly to new enquiries — by phone, email and message. Speed and care at first contact are central to this role.

  • Holding consultation calls with prospective families: understanding what they are looking for, explaining how Prelude works, and guiding them toward the right next step.

  • Managing the onboarding of new families and the smooth handover to their teacher.

  • Looking after existing families: staying in touch, anticipating needs, and helping us keep the long-term relationships at the centre of our business.

  • Keeping our records accurate and our internal workflows running cleanly (we use TutorCruncher and GoHighLevel — full training given).

  • Coordinating with teachers on scheduling and onboarding as needed.

Who you are

Above all, you genuinely love client relations. You take pride in detail, in keeping people happy, and in doing the small things well. You are the kind of person who notices when a family needs reassurance, and goes the extra mile without being asked.

Essential

  • A genuine love of client relations — you find real satisfaction in looking after people well and keeping families happy.

  • Warm and assured on the phone, able to build trust quickly.

  • Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented — nothing slips through the cracks.

  • A lovely written communicator: clear, professional and personable.

  • Emotionally intelligent — you read people well and sense what someone needs before they say it.

  • Calm and reliable under pressure, and confident prioritising when several things need attention at once.

  • Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information about families and their children.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently from home, with a quiet, professional space to take calls from.

  • Someone who sees things through — you take ownership and finish what you start without being chased.

  • Comfortable picking up new software quickly (full training provided).

A welcome bonus — but genuinely not required

We are a small, growing business, and there will be days when the client work is lighter. We’d love someone who brings a curious, can-do spirit to those moments — who asks “how could we do this better?” and is happy to turn their hand to other things as we grow. None of the below is essential, and the role does not depend on any prior experience in these areas:

  • An interest in the wider growth of the business, and comfort wearing more than one hat as an early team member.

  • Experience or interest in marketing, SEO or website work.

  • An affinity with the arts — music, drama or fine art — whether through training, study or a personal love of them.

  • Experience in a premium or concierge service environment (luxury hospitality, private members’ clubs, high-end retail or similar).

  • An understanding of the world of children’s education and enrichment, and of what families value.

This role may particularly suit someone with a background in the arts who has stepped away from performing or teaching, or a client-services professional looking for flexible, remote work that fits around other commitments.

How we work

  • Available full-time, or part-time (around 20 hours per week) for the right person, with the option to grow into full-time as the business does.

  • Largely remote, with core responsive hours and a same-day callback standard on enquiries.

  • Occasional in-person days in Mayfair (roughly monthly) for training and team time.

  • Genuine flexibility is built into this role by design — we care about how well families are looked after, not hours logged at a desk.

What we offer

  • Salary: £28,000–£32,000 full-time equivalent, depending on experience (approximately £14,900–£17,100 pro-rata for around 20 hours per week), plus a discretionary bonus.

  • Real room to grow: as Prelude grows across music, drama and art, this role can grow too — in scope, responsibility and seniority — for someone who wants that.

  • Full training on all our systems and on how Prelude looks after families.

  • Flexibility and autonomy, and the chance to do work that visibly matters in a thoughtful, values-driven team.

  • Contract: an initial six-month term with a review at three months, and a clear view to a permanent role if it’s a good fit on both sides.

  • Safeguarding: Prelude is committed to safeguarding. The successful candidate will complete our pre-employment checks — including identity and right-to-work verification, references, and the appropriate level of DBS (criminal record) check for the role.
